Finningley Amateur Radio Society

The Finningley club – FARS – is a group of enthusiasts who meet at the society’s premises to promote amateur radio and to educate members of the community in radio communications and electronics.

We cover all aspects of the hobby either within the club or through members’ individual pursuits. Whatever your interest, you will seldom be left with a question still wanting an answer!

Our facilities are tremendous and our hospitality is genuine and warm.

Visitors

Visitors are always welcome.  Our objective is to spread the word about amateur radio and foster good relations. If you’d like to visit us, just pop down and see us any Tuesday evening or Saturday during the day.  It doesn’t matter if you’re new to the hobby or you have years of experience – you’ll be welcome, young or old.  We will willingly answer any questions you have.

Club Meetings

The club meet Tuesday evenings, normally from 1800 onwards, and Saturday afternoons from 1200.
We can also arrange with members to visit at other times should they need to.

Location

The club is located just outside Sandtoft, just outside the village on the road to the South Yorkshire Transport Museum.  There’s plenty of parking space and access for the disabled is not a problem. The nearest postcode if you’re using GPS sat-nav to find us is DN8 5SX. Look here for directions to us.

The name Finningley Amateur Radio Society reflects our origins as RAF Finningley’s amateur radio society.  Not to our location, which sometimes causes confusion!

Our Address is:

Finningley Amateur Radio Society
The Hurst Communications Centre
Belton Road
Sandtoft
Doncaster
DN8 5SX
